Jesse began as Administrator for the Village of Grafton in July 2016. The Village Administrator provides high level administrative, technical and professional work in directing and supervising the daily operations of the Village of Grafton. The Administrator also supports and provides guidance to the Village President and the Board of Trustees in their policy creation and long range planning efforts.
Mr. Thyes has over seventeen (17) years of municipal experience, serving eleven (11) of those years in supervisory roles. He began his career in 1999 working for Dodge County, Wisconsin in the areas of zoning code enforcement and land use planning. He then worked for the Villages of Brown Deer and Butler in a departmental director and/or management capacity. Most recently, Mr. Thyes served as the Assistant City Administrator/Human Resources Director for the City of Mequon, including a tenure as Acting City Administrator /Clerk.
He is a credentialed municipal manage and has been certified as a municipal clerk through the State of Wisconsin. He hold both a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Carroll (College) University as well as a Masters of Business Administration degree with emphasis in Public Administration from Concordia University. Mr. Thyes has been an active member of the Wisconsin City/County Management Association, International City/County Management Association and the national Government Finance Officers Association. Away from the Office, Jesse enjoys spending time with family, fly fishing, and the occasional round of golf.
