2019 Construction Update (April 10, 2019)
Street/Utility Improvement Project: The contract for this year’s project was awarded to Dorner, Inc. out of Luxemburg, WI. Work is beginning this week and will continue throughout the summer, with substantial completion required by August 23rd. Final completion is required by September 6th.
17th Avenue (Washington St. to 250ft south of Spruce St.) – This segment includes sanitary manhole reconstruction, new water main, storm sewer improvements, new roadway base and asphalt and limited curb and gutter replacements. Work on this road began this week and must be substantially complete by June 21st.
Bridge Street & 16th Avenue (15th Ave. to 17th Ave.) – This segment includes full sanitary sewer and water main replacement, south side curb and gutter replacement with roadway narrowing of 2 ft, spot curb and gutter repairs along the north side, new roadway base and asphalt surface. Work on this road cannot begin until June 10th once school is out for the summer.
Cedar Street (16th Ave. to 17th Ave.) - This segment includes full sanitary sewer and water main replacement, full curb and gutter replacement with roadway narrowing of 3 ft. on either side, new roadway base and asphalt surface. Currently the contractor is planning to start work on this road in early to mid-May.
Dellwood Court (16th Ave. to 16th Ave.) - This segment includes full sanitary sewer and water main replacement, full curb and gutter replacement with roadway narrowing of 3 ft. on either side, new roadway base and asphalt surface. Currently the contractor is planning to start work on this road in mid-May.
Blue Stem Subdivision – Work began on Phase I of this new residential development a few weeks ago. Sanitary sewer and water main work began at the north end of Yuma Ct. and is now working its way into the new subdivision. Construction is expected to continue through mid-summer.
River Bend Road Utility Extensions – The Village is planning to extend sanitary and water utilities from just east of Yuma Street to the East to serve a new residential development called River Bend Meadows along Port Washington Road. This work is not anticipated to start until late July/Early August and must be completed by November 27th.
I-43 Diamond Grinding Project – WISDOT plans to complete work for this project in early May along Northbound I-43. Expect single lane closures during the day.
